Wall mounting Considerations
Tilt wall mounting is used to place your screen higher than eye level, and tilted, to allow easy viewing and keep it out of the way. This mounting is often used where floor or lower wall space is already used (like above dressers in bedrooms or above fireplaces). In order to utilize this mounting possibility you will need to have and additional 4 to 6 inches behind the screen.

Flat Wall mounting Considerations
Flat wall mounting is to maximize floor space. Because Plasma TVs are so thin this mounting option gives plenty of variable and is the least expensive and only adds about 2 inches to the overall depth.

Ceiling Mounting Considerations
Ceiling Mounting allows you to mount your screen wherever you wish. This is often used when a wall is not available to mount from. Ceiling mounts offer the use of tilting and adjustments that downward viewing from practically any viewpoint. These are mounted to the ceiling and extended by a pipe to the actual mounting bracket(s). Lengths of pole vary from 2’ to 4’ but can be special ordered.

Articulating MountsConsiderations
Articulating mounts are attached to a wall and utilize swivel arms to provide a flush mount for the flat screen when it is not used. But, when you want to use the unit – just pull it out and turn the display up to 120Degress to either side and up to 10 degrees up or down.

Table Stand Considerations
Table stand mounting is a very common way to view your flat panel TV. This mounting procedure requires the proper mount(s) for the exact size screen. These mounts must be fitted for each size screen. Some manufacturers include a table stand mount with the monitor.

What Brand of wall mount do I use?
Flat panel TVs are slim but heavy so a good quality display mount is mandatory. While shopping for mounts be sure to use mounts that are capable of carrying the weight of you screen. UL Listed mounts are rated to support all the weight of your flat panel TV (and much more). Choose a mount that is easy to install. Many manufacturers are building mounts that make installation easy for the non-technical person to handle. Be sure the mount you choose has all the necessary hardware and fasteners with clear, easy to follow, instructions.

Spacing and Clearance.
Be sure to check clearance above and on each side of the unit so that when your screen in placed on the mount… it will actual fit into the space allowed. When measuring for the mount location be sure to include enough room for the display after it has been mounted and is sitting on the stand. Be sure there is ample clearance on both sides fro tilting and rotating the display after it is sitting on the stand. These are often overlooked measurements.

Power and cord placement
Think ahead bout where and how the power cord and audio visual cables will be placed and directed. Will you be running the cables down the wall, inside the wall or through the ceiling? Will excess cables and cords be tucked behind the unit, on the floor or in the wall or ceiling? Be sure to use a surge protector when connecting power cords. This will help protect your TV investment.

Proper handling of your flat panel
Manufacturers usually ship flat panel screens in the upright position to avoid any damage to the display. Check the installation instructions for how to handle your screen while attaching the mounts. Each manufacturer has recommendations on placement and handling of the display.

What about connecting the cables?
Most manufacturers include installation instructions for most common connections from your screen and TV to other components. These instructions usually include diagrams that detail actual cable connector scenarios.Since each manufacturer has different specifications we recommend that you follow their instructions carefully.
