We just bought a house and my husband just had to get the biggest LCD he could find as a housewarming gift to himself. The appearance is great and on a big empty wall it doesn't overpower the room. The picture is nice but we find ourselves adjusting it from time to time depending on what we are watching. We do have a lot of natural light that comes in though and I am certain this has an effect. At night, with the light dimmed it has an awesome picture.

Okay, first off let me say that this TV (when working) has good sound and picture. However, this TV suddenly stopped working about a month after buying it. I called their customer service line since my TV was under warranty, so no big deal right? Wrong. They tell me that they dont have any local repair shops contracted for them and that I will have to pay for shipping to send the TV back to them. Well, my total shipping bill with packaging and the TV weight came to $160 total. Bottom line, when your TV is working, it's a good product. But if you have any problems with it, best of luck to you... because you will get no help from them - period. It's just not worth it, stay away from Olevia.

This review is a little late, I got this TV a little over a year ago...

I bought this TV for mainly Xbox 360 use. My Xbox goes to the TV thru HDMI and I couldn't be happier..

I needed these specs so you probably will too...

THE RESPONSE TIME IS 6MS.

THERE IS A TOTAL OF 3 HDMI PORTS, TWO COLORSTREAM COMPONENT INPUTS, AND TWO COMPOSITE INPUTS.

FIXED AUDIO OUT: OPTICAL AND/OR RCA

To sum things up, this is a great gaming TV and I'm sure it would work fantastic for HDTV as well.

Bought this in December 2007, and it was money well spent. My wife wanted to upgrade from our 35" tube. I was reluctant, but am happy I went along. I had seen LCDs at friends and relatives houses, and was convinced that they were not that much better than what we had. Well they definately didn't have this.

The picture quality on the HD chanels is amazing. My wife, who does not watch sports, will watch now just to see the picture.

The sound is a little worse than what we had in our tube TV, but I knew that going in. If I want realy good sound, for a movie or music, I run it through our surround sound and its all good.

If you can find one of these at a discount for its age, you will not be dissapointed.

I researched HDTVs for a couple of months before deciding on this model. The deciding factors actually were rather elementary. 1. it is one of the only models with front access menu buttons and as I was trying to fill the entire TV opening of my entertainment unit that was prefered. 2. it was the lowest priced 42",1080p, flat panel available! It's been an awesome upgrade from a 35" CRT. The model itself is actually quite attractive I love the picture quality and the sound is good. The on screen menu takes getting used to but has a lot of cool tweaking options.
Unlike most I received a paper manual, I also received a different remote control than listed with the product. Not sure why. I too find the light on when off, and off when on a different feature but I won't complain. But the slow response time turning the unit on and off is slightly annoying. But overall I'm thrilled and loving it!

I would not recommend this product to anyone! Within five months, the tv was shutting itself off and on several times a day. The manufacturer told us to upload new software from their site. We did, and the set would no longer turn on at all. We asked them for a replacement set. They said they would send a refurbished or out of the box replacement. (The 1 year warranty wouldn't start over, either.) We weren't too happy about that, but thought it was better than nothing. Three weeks, and a dozen phone calls later, and we still don't have a tv. Customer service has been quite rude and unhelpful, and will only refund our purchase at a prorated rate. You have got to be kidding! ~ I wish we had checked out The Better Business Bureau on this company before purchasing.

I bought an olevia 32 inch and while I like many things about it, the jacks available on the back have no real markings for use that I understand. It should be in everyone speak, not tech speak or for those used to the new terms. I use a/v cables, and while there are sound jacks for the red and white ends, where the heck is the video? also, it is totally not compatible with my magnavox [new] dvd player/recorder.
the manual that came with it is written in such a way as to be the least helpful possible. and the cd which I thought would have more info is simply the electronic format of the no help manual. I would not recommend it to anyone, unless all you do is watch tv and use nothing else people have begun to use tv's for.

We purchased this TV from Circuit City on September 29, 2007 and have had nothing but problems with it. 7 months after purchasing this set we had to have a Samsung repair man out to replace the 'guts' (sound and picture) of the tv. About 2 months after that repair I noticed that the Tv was taking longer than usual to turn on, approx 15 to 20 seconds, called Samsung and was told that it was normal (even though it had just started doing that). Anyway, on Jan 2nd 2009, the TV turned itself off and back on, called Samsung and was told that this is the TV telling me that I need a new lamp (approx. a $400 repair), after digging a little deeper with this CR, was told that when the TV was taking a long time to turn on it was the first warning but now I am out of warranty.

BE WARY, if the TV starts doing anything wierd call Samsung and get a repair person out ASAP.

By the way I was also told that 2% to 3% of these TV's are expected to fail (very low percentage, but not when you pay $2500 and yours is in that 2% or 3%).
