| For people looking to step up to full 1080p resolution in a 52-inch flat-panel LCD, Samsung's 2007 model LNT5265F is a good choice. Besides opffering full 1080p resolution the LNT5265F also features a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for rich blacks and subltle tecture display, an 8ms response time panel for smooth motion, hidden side speakers, an NTSC tuner, and 3 HDMI ports. The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the speakers built into the TV. SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass through hidden side speakers. TruSurround XT audio adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.

| Thanks to all the previous reviewers, they helped in deciding to pull the trigger after months of comparing Sharp and Samsung. Although I was still quite worried about making this costly of a purchase online, the drop in price and free shipping by Amazon were the clinchers.
Ordered on Friday night Oct 12th and the set was shipped from Cincy and was delivered to us in Charlotte, NC Wednesday morning on Oct 17th. We went with regular UPS delivery - the driver said he has orders not to wait to see if the set works. That was a bit worrisome in case the set didn't work. The box appeared to be beat up so I was worried. However, the set appeared to be in original wrapping, it is brand new and is working perfectly out of the box. Darn thing looks as big as a movie screen!! We are enjoying the heck out of it already. The remote and manual were included, btw. ps - Amazon reduced the price $100 two days after I ordered. I sent an email requesting the refund and they granted it immediately. No fuss at all. Amazon raised the price $50 the next day but they let the refund stand. Purchase couldn't have worked out much better. TV was shipped without manual, remote control, power cables, etc. TV only. Amazon and Samsung are slow to respond to situation, so far only have got the run around. TV sitting on floor not operating. I had been checking out a new HD TV for several monthes now; waiting for my current "main" TV to die. Well, it didn't completely die, but I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought this set anyway! I am very happy I did. I briefly checked out these types of sets in a brick and morter store a couple monthes ago. All sets seem beautiful. What I noticed about this set was the contrast was great. The 15,000:1 ratio far exceeded all I saw with the other models, and I could really see a difference; especially with blacks and lighter colors. I would have even purchased this from a local store, but they could not even come close to the price offered on-line. I would have paid a couple hundred more to a store that gave me a chance to look, feel and compare sets. But, the price difference was over $1,000 more (plus tax). Sorry. That was too much of a price difference to justify. Some on-line places even beat Amazon, but I have done business with Amazon many times before and trust them. I don't mind paying a little more for that earned trust. Ordered the set on a Sunday, had it in my home by Friday. Anyway, I am not an expert on TV's. Just an everage guy. I love the picture this produces. The wife loves it. The colors are rich and pop off the screen. I am only sorry I waited. Well, not really... the price has come down as I think Samsung has a replacement model coming out! Good that I waited. I gave up worring about getting the latest/greatest model. Like cars and computers, they are out of date the day you take it home. |
