| The Panasonic TH-42PZ700U 1080p Plasma HDTV sports a 42-inch plasma screen with 1080p resolution for a crystal clear viewing experience. It will feel right at home as the centerpiece of a home theater setup. An Understated Beauty
The TH-42PZ700U is 1080p, meaning it has a full 1920 x 1080 resolution, the highest HD resolution available for the clearest and sharpest picture. Because of its plasma display, the black levels are deep and the uniformity of brightness is superb. The unit has 4096 shades of gradation and has up to a 5000:1 contrast ratio. Video noise reduction circuitry and a digital comb filter make sure the picture on screen is always optimal. The TH-42PZ700U will upconvert any signal you feed it and display it at 1080p. Connections TV as an Art Gallery One-Touch Convenience The TH-42PZ700U is backed by a 1-year limited warranty for parts and labor. What's in the Box
| After losing custody of my 60 inch projection (Panasonic), I finally got the urge to get a replacment TV. After going to all the malls/box stores and looking at ALL the "plasmas", finally settled on this one.
I agree with all the previous raters...this thing is awesome, and coupled with a decent HDDVD player and surround it rivals anything I have ever heard/seen...Shakes the walls, and yes you CAN see the blemishes...but who cares. I got great service from Panasonic, customer support and a remote that really works on everything. I am please to finally get a piece of equipment that lives up to the hype. So get one and enjoy how real movies and TV can be... Oh NFL freaks....Sports are awesome on this thing!! First, I need to mention that I got this TV right around Christmas, so I only have 2 weeks worth of experience with it. I spent about 5 months researching different TVs (both plasma and LCD), have read a million reviews and editorials. So far, I love it! It is a beautiful TV, very sleek. The picture quality is very good, even on regular tv channels -- something I was really concerned about. And of course, the HD channels are great. I do highly recommend buying HDMI cables -- I found some great ones on Amazon (~$14 for 6ft cable) that work very well. And although I don't have a Blue-Ray or HDDVD player yet, I do have an upconverting DVD player and the quality is amazing. I have also used the SD card slot to look at some pictures. I've read some reviews that the slideshow mode is way too slow. I did not find that to be true. It depends on the format of your pictures -- higher formats may take a bit longer to load, but overall I though it worked quite well. My only concern is that I felt that my vertical pictures were for some reason stretched too much. But I haven't fiddled with the setup too much yet. The price for this TV (especially on Amazon) is what really makes it a bargain. They delivered this TV 2 days early, brought it into the living room, unpacked it, and waited to confirm everything was working properly. If for ANY reason you don't like it, simply don't sign for it, they take it away and give you a refund! This service is included in the price. Haven't been disappointed. Excellent picture and great price and delivery from Amazon. Get the HDMI cable for better picture. You don't need to spend more than $20 for it...digital is digital.
